Seeing with Jesus: Developing a Worldview Shaped by the Gospels

By Jack Glasgow

Veteran pastor Jack Glasgow digs into the Gospels to explore the ways Jesus viewed and valued people, possessions, authority and more.

He reminds readers of the ways “Jesus corrects our seeing” with “bold and sudden clarity” about who and how God offers blessings — as expressed in the Beatitudes.

“Christians, congregations and the larger Christian community have the capacity to center their thoughts and actions around the thoughts and actions of Jesus,” he writes.“A gospel informed, Jesus-centered faith is both imminently possible and urgently needed.”

Also, he gives an enlightened perspective on approaching the Bible overall through the lens of Jesus’ life and teachings.

“Jack reminds us that the starting point for understanding God is Jesus, and the starting point for understanding the sixty-six books of the Bible is the four Gospels,” said Larry Hovis, a collaborative leader for congregations.

The book works well for group study with discussion questions at the end of each chapter.
